Gina Phelan enthusiastically helps to guide Tipping Structural Engineers' overall strategic direction, focusing on organizational, leadership, and employee development, as well as strategic planning, branding, marketing, and client development.
Gina is committed to facilitating Tipping's continued growth as a business and as a firm of true innovation, where new and expansive patterns of thinking are nurtured and where people are encouraged toward generative learning and higher levels of engagement. She joined Tipping in 2009 as marketing director and was named associate in 2014.
A certified Integral Coach® with a focus on leadership development, Gina honed her expertise in management, marketing, and design in the world of magazine and book publishing. An award-winning creative, her experience includes twelve years of graphic design and management positions at Cahners Publishing and the McGraw-Hill Companies’ School Division; seventeen years as co-owner of a design studio serving book publishers; and eight years directing and managing the publishing arm of a nonprofit organization. Her marketing experience includes directing the promotional strategy and activities of a group of media properties, including six magazines, two cable TV shows, and two sampling-and-couponing vehicles.
Gina served a term as co-chair of AIA San Francisco's Committee on the Environment, is active with the Society for Marketing Professionals (SMPS), and is a member of the Bay Area Organizational Development Network (BAODN), the Society for Organizational Learning (SoL), and the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She holds a B.A. in Communications from Fordham University in New York City and a professional coaching certification from San Francisco's New Ventures West.
